OLDSMAR, Fla. (970 WFLA/AP)- A waterspout came ashore in the Tampa bay area.
The Pinellas county sheriff's office says deputies saw the waterspout coming ashore Monday evening in Oldsmar.
Authorities say the waterspout caused damage to the shingles of a home, knocked down tree branches and a mailbox.
No injuries were reported. The sheriff's office says the homeowner saw the waterspout coming and left her home before it came ashore.
The National Weather Service says isolated thunderstorms in the Tampa Bay area produced the waterspout. Generally, waterspouts are tornados that occur over water.
