TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - In the latest St. Leo University poll, Democratic congressional candidate Alex Sink leads Republican David Jolly 46-37%.
Libertarian candidate Lucas Overby got 12% support in this poll.
St. Leo pollsters say the 13th Congressional District in Pinellas County is considered a swing district, voting for President Obama while reelecting Republican congressman Bill Young. Young passed away in October and that's why there is this special election on March 11th.
The poll also shows the county politically split, with 46% wanting a member of congress who would oppose the president and 46% preferring a member of congress who would help him.
As for the Affordable Health Care Act, the poll shows 60% of those questioned wanting to keep the law with some changes to it. 20% polled want to repleal it entirely.
