St. Petersburg, Fla.-(970 WFLA)-A U.S. Coast Guard team from St. Pete has rescued three stranded fisherman near the Bahamas.
The fishermen were stuck on a 34 foot boat after crashing waves from bad weather disabled the craft. The men were adrift for 30 hours until they were found near Great Inagua, Bahamas.
The boaters were able to active an Electronic Positioning Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) that helped guide the aircrew on an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to the damaged boat.
All three fishermen were hoisted to the helicopter and then transported to the Turks and Caicos. The men are said to be in good health.
