John Mayer is finally ready to get back on the road.

The singer-guitarist has been dealing with throat issues for the past few years, but on Thursday he revealed plans to kick off his "Born & Raised" tour this summer.

Mayer was originally set to bring the record on the road last year until a throat granuloma forced him to cancel those plans.  Billboard.com now says the new outing is scheduled to start July 6th at this year's SummerFest in Milwaukee.  The extensive trek will keep Mayer busy through October.  He'll be joined by "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips for most of the stops, and a dollar from each ticket sold will go to the NCIRE to help returning veterans.

Meanwhile, Mayer has a pair of warm-up shows to look forward to next month.  He'll play Alabama's Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on April 25th, and then take part in this year's New Orleans JazzFest on the 26th.
